Day 296 of wisdom
"We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope."
Martin Luther King Jr
Disappointments are a part of life, it comes unexpectedly, and when they do come we must accept it, especially when it has become a constant phenomenon. Every disappointment that we come across or receive always have an expiry date even if it will take long but, we must accept it as it comes but never lose hopes of a turn around. We must never lose sight of the pleasant and wonderful times that is ahead of us. It may not be easy to take but we must endure and bear until the tides will turn.
Dale Carnegie would say, “Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” we must continue to move on, we must continue to fight, we must continue to pray, we must not relent in our fight for survival, and a better life, we must not give because, it is not over until we win. The generation to come will blame us for the the battles we fail to win, but ultimately we will be disappointed in ourselves if we fail the next generation.
The challenges might be overwhelming, the battle may be fierce, our lives may be threatened, but if we give up, then the battle is lost. We may not get our desired result so cheaply, but we will definitely get it, if we do not give up. In the words of William J. Brennan, Jr. who said, “We must meet the challenge rather than wish it were not before us.” without challenges we wouldn't have a chance to grow, and develop strength to move forward, and fight the ultimate battles that eventually guarantees freedom.
Elizabeth Gilbert once said, “We all want things to stay the same. Settle for living in misery because we are afraid of change, of things crumbling to ruins. Ruin is a gift. Ruin is the road to transformation.” Destruction and ruin is not final, it is from thence rise newness and freshness, it is from there rise a new beginning, it is from there songs of hope and triumph rise. Hope must not be lost no matter the devastation. We must always “Remember, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” (Stephen King).
