Day 292 of wisdom
“None so deaf as those that will not hear. None so blind as those that will not see.”
Matthew Henry
The phrase "he who has an ear, let him hear" appear at least 32 times in the scriptures, it was always said to ensure a message is clear and taken to heart. The truth is, not everyone that has ears actually hears, and not everyone that has eyes actually see. Some have ears but have chosen to be intentionally deaf, these ones are even more deafer than the deaf; some have eyes big and bold enough to see, but they are blind to the happenings and events around them, they are the real blind people and not those who actually does not have eyes to see.
A man who sees his neighbour in dire need of help and refuse to help despite having the capacity and ability to help is blind no matter what he has, who he is, what position he occupies; the one who hears the noise and shout for help of a fellow man but cares less about him is deaf irrespective of his status; the one who has a voice so loud but cannot speak for those who can't is dumb regardless of his class. Of what good is what we have if it cannot be used to help others, to liberate our fellow men, to lift those sinking, and to rescue them from destruction.
The person who has all he thinks he needs, uses it only for his own good, and does not care about the other person who has nothing, and will soon lose all that he has. There is nothing more useless as having something and not being able to use it for the good of others, there is no man as wicked as the man who should and can protect a person but became a danger and an object of oppression to those he should secure and protect, there is no other height of irresponsibility as one who is responsible for a thing neglecting his responsibility.
Psalms 82:2-4 (NIV) said, “How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked? Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Proverbs 31:8-9 (NIV) also said, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” According to Proverbs 29:7 (NIV) “The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.” if you do not care for the poor, if the oppression of the weak is none of your concern, no matter how pious you claim you are, even if you are a clergy you are wicked, speak up.
