Day 278 of wisdom

“Love is the best thing in the world, and the thing that lives the longest.”

Henry Van Dyke

There exist nothing better, more powerful, and more beautiful than LOVE. Love is the reason the world has not been torn into pieces, love is the reason most of us came into this world, without love darkness would have taken absolute control of the world, love is the sweetest. Helen Keller said, "The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart." You cannot see love, but you can see someone that has been loved, or someone that loves; you cannot hear love, but you can hear someone that have received or gave love; you cannot hold love but you can hold someone in love.

In the words of Khalil Gibran, "Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit." without love one cannot truly fulfill destiny, without love life will seem like a journey to nowhere, without love the essence of life is defeated. Love is not just to be received, it must also be given because as Lao Tzu said, "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." Strength and courage is needed so giving, and receiving love is necessary.

The Apostle named Paul spoke extensively about love in his first letter written to the Corinthians in the third to eighth verses of the thirteenth chapter, "If I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it does me no good at all. Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away." ...but love never pass away.

You give love by showing kindness to those who need it, by giving an helping hand to someone who is falling, by giving a smile to a sad, depressed soul, by bringing light to the darkness in another man's world. "Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope." said Maya Angelou. Love never dies, it lives long after the giver is gone, love today, live forever.
