Day 276 of wisdom

“Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit.”

Napoleon Hill

In a marathon race, it is not always all that start that gets to the finish line, and there is no reward for starting, you only receive rewards for finishing, and finishing well. Achieving one's dreams is like running a marathon, you don't get to receive the rewards or actualise that dream if you quit, you must consistently run in the direction of your dreams without looking back or else you will run for nothing. One who would reap the full rewards, and dividends of his effort must work unrelentingly until he has completed work and mission.

Many have lost great rewards because they lack character, the character to try again, and again, and again until they win. It always gets harder when the finish line is near but if you persist you will surely get to the finish line and that is where the reward is. When the going gets tough, the touch always get going, the question is, are you tough enough to get going? Nelson Mandela once said, "it always seem impossible until it is done" Everyone who have achieved something would have at one time be told it wasn't possible, but they never allowed the impossibility of the task hinder them from trying it, and they made it possible.

Dale Carnegie said, “Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” When there seems to be no way forward; when all hopes are lost and gone; when we stand face to face with the brick wall, and it seems to be stronger than us; when it seems we have come to the end of the road, and we keep pushing, that is where and when true breakthrough, and the greatest rewards are birthed.

You don't fail, unless you stop trying, as long as you keep moving forward your reward is a guarantee, and long as quitting is not considered success is just a matter of time. You can go slowly, but you can not give up; you can back up, relax to refresh and refire, but you can not give up. You don't start just to give up halfway, you start to finish and get a reward for your troubles. Jim Rohn once asked one very germane question he said, “How long should you try? Until...” You must try until you win, until you get what you want, until your dream is achieved, until you have gotten to the finish line.
