Day 277 of wisdom

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”

Robert Frost

The road less travelled is oftentimes the most difficult, scariest, and toughest road, but that road most often lead to the greatest successes that anyone can achieve in life. The road less traveled always turn out to have the best end. Most people gravitate towards the easy life, they tend to always want to do the easy things, pass through the short cuts, and arrive at the best destinations but, success does not just come that easy.

The thirteenth and fourteenth verses of Matthew chapter seven said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad and easy to travel is the path that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss, and there are many who enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it.” which way would you go the one found by many but leads to destruction, loss, and doom, or that which leads to bliss, joy and happiness but not travelled by many.

Most people are ready to do what is just necessary for success, most are willing to go the distance, but not everyone is ready to do the extra, go the extra mile, but the extra is always the difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary. It is on the extra mile the greatest winners are found. Everyone can become extraordinary only if they are willing to do the extra, the extraordinary people in the world are all ordinary people who did not stop at the ordinary but added extra to their ordinary.

If you must have tomorrow what others won't have, you must do today what others won't do and that is going the extra mile, doing more when others have done enough. Impossibility is made possible when the extra is added. Natalie Goldberg said, "We must remember that everything is ordinary and extraordinary.  It is our minds that either open or close." If is our mindset that determines what we achieve, a closed mind will be limited to the the ordinary, but an open mind will open up space for the extraordinary.
