366 days of wisdom (April 23, 2020)

Day 114 of wisdom

“A cup that is already full cannot have more added to it. In order to receive the further good, we must give of that which we have.”

Margaret Becker

Giving is not loss, neither is it reduction, it is simply creating room for more to come, it is emptying the old for freshness, it is preparation for reception. Anne Frank asserted that, “no one has ever become poor by giving”, poverty never visits a giver, as a saying goes givers never lack.

Luke 6:38 admonishes us to “give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” We never loose a thing when we give.

In times like this, when a lot of people are faced with lack and hunger, when families seek only for survival, we must from our abundance give to the needy, we must show kindness, love, and empathy, and seek to be a miracle to others, for the greatest miracle that van happen to a man is to be a miracle to others.

Winston Churchill said ”We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” what we get helps us live, but what we give make us a life. At the end of life, when you have lived and ready to go, when your life on earth is over, it will not count what you have in your account, garage, house, or even in your name, what will matter most to you and the people around you is what you have given, the life you were able to positively affect, the people you have given hope.

“If you want something, give.”
