Day 98 of wisdom
“Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere”
Erma Bombeck
Worry is an activity that saps one of great amount of energy but never yields anything meaningful, or of value to any man who engages in it. Worrying magnifies a small issue, makes it bigger than it actually is, and empowers it to torture the *worrior*, according to Leo Buscaglia “Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.”
Bobby McFerrin in his song 'don't worry, be happy' said, “In every life we have some trouble, but when you worry you make it double”. Worrying only doubles your problem, it doesn't reduce it nor take it away. Being intentionally happy when in difficulties brings the best out of us and gives us the strength to sail through the troubles.
Joseph Cossman said, “If you want to test your memory, try to recall what you were worrying about one year ago today.” I bet you can't remember anything you worried about even six months ago. Winston Churchill also said, “When I look back on all these worries, I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed that he had had a lot of trouble in his life, most of which had never happened.”
Thinking could be an alternative way out of worry, rather than worry about things, you should divert your energy into thinking of positive ways to turn the challenges and turbulent situation into an avenue for growth and progress. Worrying is destructive, thinking is productive. One must learn to live a day at a time, taking things as it comes rather than worrying about what could be that may never be.
*Worriors* never wins any battle, only warriors do. Warriors never worry, only *worriors* do, I am not worried, I am happy.
