Day 102 of wisdom
“The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Looking back at elementary school, and remembering a prayer we always made, one would realize how grateful we should be for some of the privileges we have. The prayer goes thus, "Some have food, they cannot eat; some can eat, but have no food; we have food, and we can eat, glory be to thee oh Lord, Amen." As simple as this prayer is, it is loaded with a very big message which should guide our living.
There are countless individuals whose only prayer to God is for them to be able to pass out excreta on their own, by themselves, they don't pray for wealth or riches but just that single ability; some pray only for the ability to breath, as they are been kept alive through the aid of assisted respiratory equipments, and as in the elementary school prayer made above, some pray only for the ability to eat, because they are been fed through pipes, and hose, some can't even pray because they don't know what it feels like to live a normal, sane, and free life, they desire nothing, and therefore live for nothing.
It must noted that every of our actions, inactions, abilities, and privileges are *miracles* , and must be greatly cherished, and well appreciated. We must always show gratitude to the ONE who has given us all these without charge, and we must also understand that to wake up to these realities is true wisdom.
There is no greater wisdom than to know, and understand that the common things of this world, are great miracles continuously repeated.
