Day 99 of wisdom
“The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.”
Proverbs 12:19 (King Solomon)
Truth is a statement of facts; it is a genuine depiction or statements of reality; it is conformity to fact or reality; truth means correctness, and accuracy. A lie on the other hand is an intentional false statement, it is a situation involving deception.
In every situation, man must always endeavour to speak the truth, stand for the truth, live the truth, and be ready to die for the truth, because if you are not ready to die for the truth you haven't found a purpose to live for. Someone once said, "It takes strength and courage to admit the truth", in saying, and accepting the truth, you must the ready to go all out, you might face oppositions from people you think are trusted allies, you might be rejected and disowned, but in the end, the truth always prevails.
One of the foremost human right activist that ever lived, Mahatma Gandhi said, "the truth never damages a course that is just." So, if a course is just, the truth will only further propel it into pronounced greatness, truth is a gentle force of nature, it is calm but never permanently subdued.
The good thing about saying the truth is that, you don't have to remember what you said, all that needs to be remembered is what exactly happened, but for a lie to be sustained, it must be planned, rehearsed, and memorised. Lies never last, it is for a moment, but the truth is established forever, no matter how pronounced, close to reality a lie is, it will eventually be discovered, and no matter how deeply buried the truth is, it will one day resurrect, and be openly established.
You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
