Day 179 of wisdom

“To be able to look back upon one's life in satisfaction, is to live twice.”

Khalil Gibran

Rarely do people get to the end of their youthful lives, and not have something to regret if not a lot of things. So many people's life are half lived, they don't get to live their lives to the fullest when they have the time, but for those who do, looking back on their fruitful, eventful, non regrettable life, is like living that life all over again.

If we will be satisfied with our lives when we are almost at the end of it, if we will cease the privilege to be able to live our lives twice, if we will smile at ourselves, and our achievement when our youthful years are over, the work must begin now while we can, because time waits for no man, and when we will have enough of time, we will not be able to do the things we would have loved to do.

To have lived a satisfied life is to have loved, and be loved; it is to have made people smile in their unpleasant, and vulnerable conditions; it is to have impacted lives so much that their biography, and autobiography will not be complete without you; it is to been a source of joy to everyone you come across; it is to have lived your life so well that your regrets are insignificant, and inconsequential.

Live your live not by people's opinion, but by your choices, your passion, and your vision. At the end of the day it matters not how many people's advice you heed to but what you are able to make of your life through the decisions you make, and take. Satisfaction is not derived in the amount of your you could make in life, but the amount of lives you could positively affect. Choose to live a satisfied life, not a (people) satisfying life.
