Day 158 of wisdom
“Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you.”
Walt Whitman
The Bellamy brothers in one of their songs said, "life ain't like a bowl of cherries, there's too little laughter and too much sorrow. It's more like a jar of jalapenos..." Life a lot of times can be very tough, frustrating, and heartbreaking, we may not always get what we hope for, wish for, or even deserve, but whatever happens, we must not allow life events limit our forward movement.
It is not the one who starts a journey that will receive a reward, but the one who finish it. Finishing the journey does not always mean a smooth ride, sometimes there are potholes, ditches, and bumps on the road, one may fall, but must also rise each time he falls. Falling may become inevitably recurring, but rising must become a convenient habit if the finish line must be reached.
Hope must be kept alive, our eyes must be set on the goal, we must always keep our face towards the sunshine, so the darkness would not be ahead, but behind us. The light at the end of the tunnel will be brighter than we have ever experienced. You have what it takes to turn the sourness in your life into something positive, something you have always desired, and wished for, but you must not give up on the race ahead.
Dalton Ross once said, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade”, always see the positives in every situation, because every situation has one. Look to the skies, never look down on yourself, look up, raise your heads high, the way forward is not downward, but upward. There is brightness on the other side of your darkness, you must get there, so keep moving.
