Day 169 of wisdom

“Don't let someone else's opinion of you become your reality.”

Les Brown

Everybody always have opinions about everything, but it does not mean that their opinions are the true, and factual expression of existing events. Most times people's opinion are always derived from their own personality, and beliefs, not necessarily of the subject. If we try to please people based on their opinion about us, we will not be living our own lives, but the live of many opinion givers.

People may have different opinions about you, but your opinion about yourself is the most important, and is that which matters most. Pleasing people may be the greatest threat to your growth, and personal development. So, if you want to grow in proportions that is in synchronization with your personality, and character you must listen more to yourself than others.

Criticism from people may be a good way of checking your progress, but whose criticism do you listen to? Some people criticize you because they can't achieve what you are achieving, some criticize because they are envious of your achievement, and some criticize you because they want you to progress, they seek your growth, they want you to become better persons. So, you must be careful of whose criticism you accept into your mind.

Richard Feynman once said, "You have no responsibility to live up to what other people think you ought to accomplish. I have no responsibility to be like they expect me to be. It’s their mistake, not my failing." Angelina Jolie also said, "Some people say you are going the wrong way, when it’s simply a way of your own." If you are doing your own thing, if you are going your own way, if you are going your own way, keep at it for breakthrough is just on the horizon.
