Day 140 of wisdom
“Why do you want to achieve your goals? The answer to that question has power. It's what motivates you.”
Michael S. Dobson
Motivation is the reason, the benefit, or the intention for doing a thing, starting a course, or embarking on a journey. There is no endeavour that one embarks on in life that comes easy, achieving anything must be done through hard work, commitment, and determination, but sometimes one lacks the enthusiasm, courage, sense of purpose, and courage to move on, in these times one must go back to the reason for which he began that course, for that is where the motivation to continue can be found.
Zig Ziglar said, “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing, that’s why we recommend it daily.” If we must become the best we can be, we must always find ways of staying motivated, we must always wake up to the reality of the importance of daily motivation, we must continually push ourselves until we get to our desired destination.
Sometimes, we may get motivation from outside ourselves, we may be inspired to do, and be more by what we see, hear, or read, but without the internal drive, without self motivation, we would get nowhere. External motivation is not the real push we need, external motivation is like an ignition for self motivation. A vehicle with an ignition fault can be supported to ignition by pushing, but cannot be pushed to its destination, if you can, then you don't need the vehicle in the first place.
When you feel exhausted, anxious, weak, blank, and don't have the drive to move forward, when nothing else is going your way, and you feel like quitting, remember why you started, remember the pain you have already been through, and the effort you have put into that course, then ask yourself if you would allow all those effort, pain, and resources go to waste, if you would have done all you did for nothing. Keep moving forward keep pushing yourself, even when it is hardest, keeping pushing, "... Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly."
