366 days of wisdom (May 08, 2020)

Day 129 of wisdom

“Live your life by a compass, not a clock.”

Stephen R. Covey

Every man born into the world was born for a specific, and definite purpose. It is very important that one discovers, and follow his purpose in life. Fulfilling purpose would require that one follow his heart, that you do what makes you happy, and give you internal joy, and peace of mind.

One who hasn't discovered his purpose in life can afford to live life anyhow, because his living is not attached to a purpose, but a man whose purpose has been discovered, and knows exactly the reason for his existence will not live life just anyhow, he will be definite and directional in his living.

Living by a compass is living by direction, it is living purposefully, and in pursuit of ones desired goal. You must not allow yourself be forced into decisions that are not pursuant of your purpose in life. Living by a clock is being conscious of what should have been, or what you think you should have gotten irrespective of the process, it is wanting to achieve a result that you haven't worked for.

Life isn't a competition, you should not get into the rat race to achieve what everyone else is pursuing, or achieving, you should run, work, and plan on how to achieve your life purpose, and how to ensure you are not living another man's life. Winning the rat race they say, "does not make you anything more than a rat",

Live a life of direction, not a life of competition.
