366 days of wisdom (May 09, 2020)

Day 130 of wisdom

"One must know one's own secret."

Swami Nithyananda

The greatest discovery any man can have is self discovery. A man who has not discovered himself, does not know what he can, or cannot do. If we must live productive, fulfilling, and fruitful lives, we must know ourselves, we must be aware of what makes us attain our best level of consciousness, and effectiveness.

Knowing yourself means understanding your strengths and weaknesses, your passions and fears, your desires and dreams. It means being aware of your eccentricities and idiosyncrasies, your likes and dislikes, and your tolerances and limitations. Knowing yourself means knowing your purpose in life.

We can not really love ourselves, and others if we do not know our own self, we can not function at our best if we do not know our own deepest secret. We are a product of our own behaviour, character, and attitude. If our current situation and condition does not satisfy us, we must strive for a change, and if we will have a change we will have to change those things which cumulation we have become.

Ancient Greek philosopher Socrates once declared that, "the unexamined life was not worth living." A life that has not been discovered does not have a reason to live for, it only wanders the surface of the earth, and therefore cannot be of much use to the world. Purpose is embedded in self discovery, discover yourself, and your purpose will be defined.
