366 days of wisdom (August 31, 2020)

Day 244 of wisdom

“Predicting rain doesn't count, building the ark does.”

Warren Buffet

A farmer that expects the rain, but sit idly without tilling the ground, and burying some seeds in it will reap the reward of his indolence when the harvest arrives. It is not enough to know, neither is it enough to plan, if we must achieve our dreams, we must go beyond wishing, and planning we must put in hard work, and determination to ensure our dreams come life. In the words of Dwight D. Eisenhower who said, "Good planning without good working is nothing" if you plan and not work you have done nothing.

As important, and indespensable as planning could be, it is useless if it is not worked upon. Richard Wheeler said, "The person who would like to make his dreams come true MUST STAY AWAKE." staying awake is being ready to execute, it is rolling up your sleeves, and getting to work, it is doing whatever it takes to realize your heart desires.

Sometimes we get insight into what is to come, we see beyond the present, and are able to predict the future. When these things happen, it is best we act in that moment rather than wait for our predictions to come upon us unprepared. Jim Rohn once said sarcastically, "If it's raining you can't fix the roof, if it's not raining it doesn't need to be fixed" the best time to do any thing is when there is no pressure to do it, when the pressure to do it comes, it may become either difficult, or impossible to do. Noah did not build the ark during the rain, he built it before the rain.

Our best life is yet ahead of us, it unfolds as the days go by, but we must be well prepared to meet that life with proper planning, and readiness to put in the necessary work, coupled with the willingness to tap into the abundance that is stuffed into each day. Work towards improving your skills, your talents, and abilities are not given to you for nothing, put it to maximum use. Cease every opportunity to grow, make learning a daily habit , and you will not be far from living your true life.
