Day 242 of wisdom
“The best advice about getting older? Just be thankful you're not dead!”
Chadwick Boseman
The gift of life is the most precious gift we can ever receive, and every passing day is an opportunity to live life for the greater good of the human race. Every waking day must be an opportunity to be grateful, thankful, and appreciative of the rare privilege to breathe a bit longer than some others. When we show gratitude for what we receive today, we will most likely get another tomorrow, and even more.
Someone once said, "Life is God's gift to us, what we do with life is our gift to God" we don't always expect good, and not give anything in return. The whole essence of life is to please our maker, to live for the purpose for which He created us. we are here today, we may not be around tomorrow, but whatever we do with our today will determine our tomorrow, either here, or in the afterlife.
In the words of Melody Beattie “Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” gratitude is the key to a happy and fulfilling life, it reminds us of yesterday's good, encourage us to live in today, and brightens our hopes of a greater future. Henri Frederic Amiel said, “Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.”
Many were with us yesterday, but are no more today, we are here today not for our ability to do some things better than other people, or that we are more valuable than they are. We have been privileged, and opportuned to be alive today, we must not take the opportunity for granted, we must not waste our life, and time, we must make our life count, because it is the reason we are alive.
