Day 234 of wisdom

“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”

Martin Luther King Jr.

Disappointments are a part of man's constant experiences, we will always get disappointments because life is not arranged in such manner as to give us all that we want expecially at first try, but if we do want something bad enough, we must never lose sight of that thing until we receive it, we must always keep hope alive until we achieve our heart desires.

Alexander Pope once said, "Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed." the best way to cushion the effect, or avoid disappointment is to expect little, or nothing at all from people, and situations. It is better not to expect, and get something, than to expect, and get nothing. No one owe us anything, so we are not entitled to anything from anybody, but if you work for something you will definitely earn whatever you work for.

Joel Osteen once admonished, he said, "You must make a decision that you are going to move on. It won't happen automatically. You will have to rise up and say, ‘I don’t care how hard this is, I don’t care how disappointed I am, I’m not going to let this get the best of me. I’m moving on with my life." no matter how hard you get hit, no matter how huge the disappointment may be, you must be determined to move forward, you must see disappointments as a learning phase, and an opportunity to grow.

Disappointment lasts just for a moment, it is finite, but hope is never quenching, it never dies, it is infinite. In the words of Desmond Tutu, “Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.” darkness may persist, eventually light will shine, and darkness will flee. Stephen King also said, "remember hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies" keep hope alive, the tide will soon turn in your favour.
