Day 243 of wisdom

“Keep in touch without touching.”

Amit Abraham

You don't want to regret what you said, or did to someone when you hear that person is no more. People move about not carrying on their faces the challenges they are constantly battling with. Every man has his own secret battles, but the magnitude of one man's battle may not be in any way comparable to what the other is facing. A popular Yoruba saying goes, "Gbogbo alangba lo d'anu dele, a ko mo eyi t'inu nrun" meaning "all lizards lie flat on their stomach, it is difficult to determine which has a stomach ache." You can't read people's problems on their faces therefore, you can't assume everybody is just all right.

If you cannot make a person's life better through your words, and actions, do not make it more miserable; do not be the reason someone's frustration is deepened; do not make yourself the source of someone's misery, and discouragement. Life is already very hard for so many people, do not make it harder, rather strive to become a burden bearer, try to make people happy whenever you are in sight, be the person people want to speak to when they are in despair. Let your words lift, let your actions gladden people's heart, and mind.

In the words of Misbah Khan "touching people’s hearts through your words is the only job that you could do and nobody has to hire you for it." as humans we must be interested in the welfare of everyone around us, and take responsibility for the growth of our society. No one has to pay us for doing the good that we do, it is what should keep us going, we should seek to continue doing good no matter our condition. We must not only seek our own comfort, but that of everyone around us. Life becomes better for everyone, when we all seek the peace of mind, and happiness of each other. The secret to a better world is being our brother's keeper. Touch lives today, share a smile, spread some love, cheer some hearts.
