366 days of wisdom (August 16, 2020)

Day 229 of wisdom

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”

(King Solomon, Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Everything that exists on earth exist for a reason, and everything that will, and must happen has a season, and a timing. The purpose of life is a life of purpose, a life without purpose is a life not worth living. One who must fulfil purpose in life must be mindful of the times, and seasons that exists, and what time, or season will fit, and support the realization of his purpose, and destiny in life.

A farmer who refuses to plant maize during the rainy season, and decides to do so in the dry season will reap an harvest of dry, burnt seed of maize, or at most a plantation of maize with nothing to show for the stress, and effort. If one does not do the right things at the right time he will not reap the reward of proper timing, and planning.

Ray Cummings said, "Time is what keeps everything from happening at once." Time is the regulator of events, it is with time that everything passes, and without time life will be just like a rollercoaster without a purpose, or destiny. Opportunities are time bound, if an opportunity knocks, and one fails to maximise it, he will lose that opportunity, and may never get another.

In the words of Charles Buxto, "You will never find time for anything. If you want time you must make it." time is available to everyone at the same rate, pace, and time, how we make use of it is what differentiates one person from the other. Now is the only time that belongs to us, yesterday is no more, and tomorrow is yet to come, but today is all we have, we must do today what we have to do, and when tomorrow comes we will do what we can do.
