MISTAKES MAKE YOU MORE VALUEABLE

Mistakes are not sentences, they are the cracks that reveal our humanity, and allow our values to shine through. We are taught to avoid mistakes, to go for perfection, to be careful of errors; so, we begin to view errors as signs of failure, incompetence, or shame. We strive for unblemished records, flawless performances, seamless projects; but these are far from the truth. The very things we try so hard to avoid is what makes us indispensable, resilient, and truly skilled.

Mistakes don't diminish your value, rather, they compound it. They are the necessary tuition you pay for wisdom, they forge the core of genuine expertise. Think of the most capable person you know, the unflappable leader, the ingenious problem-solver, the artisan with an intuitive touch; their secret is not a life devoid of failure, but of consistency in failure. They have built, in their mind and muscle memory, a vast library of what not to do. Every misstep, every miscalculation, every unforeseen consequence has added another volume to that library.

Anyone can follow a manual, it is the person who has deviated from the manual and dealt with the consequences who possesses real, practical wisdom. A mistake teaches you the why behind the rules, it shows you the hidden pressures, the fragile connections, the real-world chaos that theories can't capture. Getting something wrong is a powerful antidote to arrogance, it reminds you that you are fallible, that you don't have all the answers.

A mistake is simply data feedback from the real world, it tells you that your approach, your assumption, your technique needs adjustment. The valuable person is not the one who never receives negative data; it is the one who voraciously collects it, learns from it, and uses it to build a better model for the future. The cracks from those mistakes are not flaws, they are the places where the light of your hard-won experience, your resilience, and your depth of character shines through most brightly. They are what make you, you; and that is your greatest value.

To a better you, Kamikun John.
