Plant a seed for a better world
THE WORLD IS BUILT ON SACRIFICES
Human history has is one filled with stories of sacrifices. There is no achievement, no breakthrough, and victory in any area of human endeavours that does not stand upon the foundation of sacrifices. Many have made sacrifices that are unseen, some uncelebrated, and a lot undeniable. Nothing good comes without a cost, and many have paid the price for the world we now inhabit, the world we now enjoy, the world we are now proud of.
Some people today enjoy freedom that was paid for by the blood of some individuals they never met, some whose name they will never hear, whose pictures they will never see; some enjoy wealth that was paid for by the hardwork and sweat of parents who knew for sure they would never have the opportunity to see them. A good life does not come by chance, it is not served on a platter, it is forged through the making of difficult choices, it is fought for by trading comfort for progress, ease for excellence, and the familiar for the extraordinary.
The world rewards the willing; fortune favours the brave; if you are not willing to let go of the little seeds in your hands, you will not receive the yield of a tree. Sacrifices are the currency of transformation; they don't just guarantee success, they build your character, they teach you resilience in the face of adversity, humility in triumph, and the profound joy of knowing that you have given your best to the course you have chosen.
Don't just live for yourself, don't just live to satisfy your own cravings, desires, wants, and needs; the world is bigger than that. You live in this world you now enjoy because some people paid the price for it. Chart new territories, endure the storm, plant seeds of trees you may not eat from; nurture the seed of progress; bear the burden of greatness. Make the world a better place for generations that will never meet you, but will never forget you.
To a better you, Kamikun John.
