Be on the search for positivity
LOOK FOR THE GOOD IN OTHERS
Human beings are by default identifyers of negativity; it is easy to see the bad in others, and overlook their good side. To see the good in others is not nativity, nor unfounded optimism; it is not ignoring faults, shortcomings, or excusing wrong. It is a conscious choice of filtering through a spectrum of actions to activate a point of focus. It is the decision to look past the surface disturbance and search for the steady light beneath the turbulence.
When you choose to look for the good in others, you are not just seeing them for who they are, you are becoming a better you, reshaping your orientation, and adjusting your perspectives. You begin to trade your irritation for curiosity, and judgment for compassion; you begin to understand that everyone is fighting a hidden battle, carrying an invisible weight, or nursing private hopes; when you realise all these, you become softer toward others.
People do not just become impatient, rigid, and cruel; their experiences might have created in them behaviours that they themselves do not appreciate, and attitude they once detested. Their scars are the evidence of betrayal, and fractured relationships. Their vision blurred by wickedness, and cruelty showered on them. Choose to see what others don't look for, see people's longing for connection, their effort, their attempts, and their resilience, and show them some kindness.
Practice builds your muscles. The world will constantly tell you that, being good is being weak, that is a lie. It takes strength and a daily commitment to positivity to be good, or even see the good in others. You are surrounded by people who are walking, breathing stories of survival and hope, of pain and triumph; they may have their flaws, and make mistakes, when you make effort to see the good in them, you will not only find their beauty, you will unleash the beauty within you.
To a better you, Kamikun John.
