Become who you are meant to be
DISCOVER YOUR TRUE SELF
Your true self is not the position you occupy, it is not the role you fill, or the title attached to your name, it is not your achievements, it is not the person the world sees, it is who you are without any of those things, it is who you are when nobody is watching, it is who you are when you are stripped of everything that has your name on it.
You may have wandered far from who you are, you might have built your life on the foundations of people's approval, trying to establish your identity on who you are not, try to prove to be someone else to people that does not matter. Sometimes, we want to be someone else when there is no one to become us, we want to satisfy and please others, when there is nobody to please us; in the end we become a reflection of other people's personality forgetting to become who we are supposed to be.
Discovering yourself has to begin with the quiet, unguarded moment when you are alone with your own thoughts. Pay attention to what you do when no one is watching. What do you naturally gravitate toward? What problems do you love to solve? Notice when you feel a sense of deep alignment, as if you are moving with the current of your own nature, not against it. The answers to these questions, the revelation of these truths is the reality of who you truly are.
Your true self is not a statue, it is a living, breathing, unfolding story; it is the core from which your most authentic life can grow, a life of meaning, not just motion; of purpose, not just performance. Start the conversation with yourself, listen to your own soul. The most important relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself, nurture it, believe it, and follow the pulse. The treasure map is your own life, the compass is your own heart, and the discovery, your own true identity.
To a better you, Kamikun John.
