DON'T SELL YOURSELF SHORT

Don't be a diamond that is been priced like a common stone. Selling yourself short is not just about undervaluing your skills in a negotiation or settling for less than you deserve, it is not about not promoting yourself enough for the right worth, it is about how you downplay your dreams because it seems unrealistic, they told you it is impossible, or you are just too lazy to pursue it. It is about keeping a brilliant idea to yourself because someone might find it foolish. It is about deflecting compliments, rejecting opportunities, and surrendering your confidence, and ambition.

The world will take you at your own valuation, if you present yourself as cheap, don't be surprised if you are treated as trash; if you introduce your talents with an apology, the world will hear the apology, not the talent. You carry within you a unique blend of experience, insight, and ability that can never be seen in anyone else. Your perspective is your power, your scars are your credentials, your passion is your compass; these cannot be replicated, or outsourced.

Stop comparing your raw, unfinished masterpiece to someone else's polished, curated lifestyle. Stop confusing humility with shrinkage. Humility is an open heart; shrinkage is a closed door. Humility is open to learning, and growth; shrinking shuts down and says, “I cannot, I have nothing to offer.”

The moment you decide to stop selling yourself short is the moment you reclaim your power; it is not arrogance, it is you knowing who you are, it is about recognising that you are stronger than your challenges, and you can overcome any difficulties. You have to rise up everyday, show up for yourself, and let the world know your real worth. No one will give you your space, your accolades, your medals, you have to go out, fight for it, and claim what really belongs to you.

To a better you, Kamikun John.
