Stay connected

DON'T FORGET YOUR ROOTS

In a world that is constantly pushing us to move forward, to leave our comfort zones, and to chase after success, wealth, and new horizons. It is easy to lose sight of where we are coming from. No matter where we go, no matter how far we go in life, our roots remain the foundation of who we are. They shape our values, our resilience, and our identity. To forget them is to lose a part of ourselves, it is to disconnect ourselves from what is supposed to be the source of our strength, vision, and drive.

Our roots are more than just the place we were born or the family we come from. They are the struggles our ancestors endured, the traditions that moulded us, the humble beginnings that taught us gratitude, the foundations that built our resilience, that gave us courage, and filled us with the can do spirit that we now carry everywhere we go. They remind us that greatness is not just about reaching heights but remembering the ground that lifted us, and gave us the opportunity to rise.

There is immense strength in embracing your past no matter how humble it might have been. You do not disconnect yourself from those you once built memories with, you do not dishonour your cultural heritage, you do not disregard your history. It will help you to remember where you came from, to see how far you have gone, and to imagine where you can still get to. Life is a continuum and the entire journey only makes sense when it is viewed as a whole, not when it is disjointed and seen in parts.

As you ascend the ladder to the top, as you achieve your desired dreams, as you evolve from what you used to be, to what you want to be; pause, look back, honor the hands that raised you, the lessons that shaped you, and the journey that brought you here. Success means little if you lose yourself along the way, your story is incomplete if your beginning is left out. Do not forget your roots, they are your anchor, your story, the foundation of your purpose, and your power.

To a better you, Kamikun John.
