YOUR RIGHT OR THE RIGHT.
The world we live in today is a place where people's rights are been protected, or voilated, upheld, or opposed. Many go about protecting their own rights, but violating the rights of others; some are about fighting for their right and possibly that of others, but they ignore the fact that sometimes, activating your right in certain circumstances may not be the right thing to do. Life is never all about you, and the things you want, you sometimes have to consider others in your actions.
If you do not care about the effect your actions will have on others, as long as your own personal rights are not infringed, you are not doing the right thing. The fact that something is your right, does not mean it is the right thing. As a matter of fact, something may be your right, but it is harmful and injurious to YOU. As much as you should protect your rights, and that of others, you must also ask the critical question: it is the right thing?
The right thing may be inconvenient for you, but it would be ultimately beneficial to a vast number of people, and yourself inclusive; you may not even be satisfied with what the outcome might be for you, but knowing that many people will benefit from it should give you more joy. If we choose to always do right even when no one is watching, we will have a better world for everyone to live in.
Do the right thing always, whenever your right come in the way of what is right, you must shift grounds to allow what is right to take pre-eminence. Who you are does not matter, as long as you do the right thing, you are saving the world. William Clement Stone once said, "Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity." Irrespective of the situation you find yourself always do the right thing.
