LEARNING ON THE JOB
Learning on the job is an important aspect of professional development and growth. In today’s fast-paced and dynamic work environment, organisation are looking for individuals who have a willingness to learn, adapt and grow within their roles. The ability to learn effectively on the job is an essential skill in today's workforce. Learning on the job is gives us the privilege of having a practical and hands-on approach to learning.
Instead of relying solely on theoretical knowledge, we get to experience real-world scenarios that provide us with a better understanding of our job responsibilities. We get to apply the concepts and skills we have learned in a real work setting, which makes the learning process more engaging and relevant. On-the-job learning also allows us to acquire new skills and knowledge in a cost-effective manner. It eliminates the need for expensive training programs or courses and enables we to acquire new skills while working, leading cost saving and effective performance.
One of the most significant benefits of on-the-job learning is that it promotes continuous learning, which is essential in today's rapidly changing work environment. With technology constantly evolving, job requirements are constantly changing. The ability to learn on-the-job enables employees to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices, allowing them to be more productive and effective in their roles.
No one started out as a ready made, complete, and fit for the job professional, every professional became the perfect man for the job, the sort after, and top notch professional after years of learning, and adapting to different changes and situations that the job offers. Never be afraid to start fresh, green, and blank, but be ready to learn, relearn, unlearn and adapt. We should not despise any opportunity to learn on the job, it might be that which leads to the ultimate goal.
