GUMPTION
Skills, talent, knowledge, and ability are not always enough to win certain battles or sail through some challenges in life. Many a times, we need some guts, some assertiveness, some gumption. Life does not serve us our wishes, neither does it pay us for our intentions, it only responds to our actions, our drive, and our determination to get to our destination, and have what we want.
Many dreamers and wishers abound with nothing to show for their dreams and wishes; many wanted to, never did, and would never become or receive, but those who in spite of challenges, obstacles, and inhibitions woke up, rose up, stood up, and fought for what they wanted, will always get that which they fight for, and sometimes even more.
Life is not fair, and that would not change, but those who would not be fair with the unfairness of life would would eventually have a fair life. It takes a lot of guts to not look back at quitting when life beats you hard. "When the going gets tough, the tough gets going" they say. If you have come this far in the struggle, if you have been beaten and stricken by happenstances that has slowed down your journey, do not quit, but keep moving.
Quitting is the resort of losers, it is the stamp of failure. Build your guts, strengthen your gumption, you would need a lot of it on your journey. Do not let the fear of what could happen, make nothing happen; if you have wings, but does not have the courage to fly, you would crawl for the rest of your life. No guts, no GUMPTION, no glory.
