Day 198 of wisdom
“The only reason I enter an event is to win.”
Tiger Woods
Vince Lombardi once said, “winning isn't everything, it is the only thing.” except you begin to have the mindset that winning is the only thing, it will be difficult for you to win. This doesn't imply that you must not fail, but it means, even after a failure, after a fall, after a disappointment, you get up, rise up, stand up, and keep moving. It is the mindset that, it is not over until I win.
A winner is not someone who will not fail, or has not failed, a winner is someone who notwithstanding his failures continues until he wins. Legendary American Basketball player Michael Jordan once said, “I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I have lost more than 300 games. 26 times, I have been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed.” failing continuously until one wins is the key to success.
Winning is not done in comforts zones, winning is done out of discomfort, and distress, one must be willing to give all it takes to win. Winning is not the most difficult thing to do, the most difficult thing is preparing to win. Preparing to win is not done with ease, one must suffer for as long as it will take in the secret preparing to win on the big stage, than to go to the big to suffer loss.
Never start anything just for the fun of it. Whatever you start, let your purpose be to get to the end as a winner, you may fall on the way, but you must rise up again; you may fail at first try, but that should not be your last try, in fact, you must not stop trying until you win. Winning is not for quitters, winning is for those who accepts failure, but continues until they win.
