NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES
The world today is filled with many heroes, people who give their all, who make sacrifices everyday, who risk their lives for others to have a better, fulfilling, and sustainable life. They think more of others than they think of themselves, they are the real heroes. These people do not wear capes, they are in pant trousers and T-shirts, jeans and round necks, native attire, suit with knotted ties. They are the vulcanisers, bricklayers, security men, bike riders, who go out everyday in search of means to cater for their families, both nuclear and extended.
These everyday heroes are sometimes not recognised, we do not realise their impact, we do not understand the sacrifices they are making to ensure things keep rolling and everywhere is greased. Their armour is not in their garment, but in their grind, forged in their everyday hustle. Their hope of a better tomorrow is in their daily investments.
These heroes don't chase glory; they chase goodness. They show up when the world has gone quiet, when the easy path fades away, and they are left with no option that to remain persistent in their pursuit, they remind us that heroism is not about superhuman feats, it is about human choices. The choice to lift others when they are weary; to listen when silence screams; to love fiercely, even when it is inconvenient.
If you are doing so much for those around you, but you are feeling small in the shadow of blockbuster heroes, pause and look closer, you are already wearing the cape, it is invisible, woven from your courage, your kindness, your quiet resolve. The world does not need more thunder; it needs your steady light. Step into your power today. Be the hero who does not need a cape to fly. The greatest stories are not told in explosions, they are lived in the everyday echoes of your choice to care for others.
To a better you, Kamikun John.
