The coexistence of pain and pleasure.

THE INSEPARABLE UNION OF PAIN AND PLEASURE

In the journey of life, there is never an entirely smooth road, there are bumpy roads, sharp turns, and twisted bends, there are potholes, and ditches, and irrespective of how bad the road may be, we cannot turn back. We will experience sorrow, and sometimes pleasure, we will never want the pleasure to end, nor the sorrowful moments to return, but such is not the order. We cannot seperate ourselves from sorrow neither can we have pleasure in our bosom always, but we can maximise both moments for our own benefits.

Unfortunately, the pain of sorrow are always deeper than the excitement of pleasure. We must learn how to subdue and control the pain of sorrow, and the excitement of pleasure, or it will control us, and that will not be good enough for us. Tony Robbins once said, "The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you are in control of your life. If you don't, life controls you." We must take control of our lives, or we will be controlled and led in an undesired direction.

In pain or in pleasure, never waste so much time on the present, always remember that there is a tomorrow to deal with. Enjoy every moment accordingly, cry when you should but not for too long, rejoice when you should but not for too long, because as a swing moves back and forth, and night follows day, day follow night, so do we move from pain to pleasure, pleasure to pain, and the things that we do in each moment of pain or pleasure determines how long we will remain in each.

Deepak Chopra made a very profound statement when he said, "Life is the coexistence of all opposite values. Joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain, up and down, hot and cold, here and there, light and darkness, birth and death. All experience is by contrast, and one would be meaningless without the other." We must learn to our best self in any condition we find ourselves, for they all make us, and the quality of our lives are measured in how we are able to navigate every of these twists and turn, and come out successfully.
