DON’T CELEBRATE TOO SOON.
When Luka Modric's penalty against Manchester City was saved in the quarter finals champions league shootout, the Manchester fans, and players celebrated as though they had already wan the shootout, but at the end of the shootout, Real Madrid football club came out victorious, and celebrated duly. Sometimes, we get excited too soon, too early, and untimely and this may eventually make us loose sight of the goal, reduce our enthusiasm, and kill our drive for the pursuit.
Celebrating too soon can take away from the beauty of achieving a goal. It can also lead to complacency and prevent us from reaching our desired destination. Sometimes, it is easy to get carried away when things seem to be going our way, especially when we have worked hard for something, but it is important to remember that there is still work to be done, and anything can happen. No matter how good things might seem in the moment, there is always a chance that things can take a turn for the worse. That's why it is crucial to maintain focus and stay committed until we have successfully crossed the finish line.
Celebrating too soon can give us a false sense of security and make us forget about the challenges we still face. It is also crucial to stay humble and avoid underestimating our opposition. Celebrating too soon can lead to complacency and may give our competitors an opening to catch up or perhaps even overtake us. Even the slightest lapse of concentration can turn the tide in a competition.
Another example of why we shouldn't celebrate too soon happened in the 2016 US Presidential election. Hillary Clinton was leading in the polls and was almost certain of winning the race. However, the outcome was entirely different as Donald Trump won the presidency by a slim margin. Clinton's mistakes were two-fold: overconfidence and complacency, and both led to her defeat. It is crucial to always keep our eyes on the finish line and avoid overconfidence or underestimating our opponents. We should remain disciplined and stay on track until we reach our desired destination. Celebrate after the job is complete as it ensures that we have accomplished the goal and have received the desired reward.
Always stay grounded and focused until the task is done. It's natural to feel excited when things go our way, but it's equally crucial not to celebrate too soon. Stay committed, disciplined and avoid complacency, which may lead to failure or missing out on realizing our full potential.
