KEEP YOUR HEAD ABOVE WATER
There are times when we feel as though the waves of adversity are threatening to engulf us, dragging us under the surface in a sea of stress, anxiety and chaos. Such times can be so dark and dreadful, but it is essential that we keep our head above water and not allow ourselves to be overwhelmed, or get drowned by those challenges. We must always strive to maintain a sense of balance and stability in our life, even when circumstances seem to be conspiring against us. We must hold on to our core values and coping mechanisms, so that we can stay afloat in the face of adversity.
To keep our heads above water we need to learn to manage stress and anxiety effectively. We can do this by taking regular breaks and engaging in activities that help us relax and unwind. We can also seek support from trusted family members, friends, or qualified professionals such as therapists or counsellors when needed. Staying organized and prioritizing our tasks can also help us manage stress and stay on top of things.
You can start by identifying the most important tasks and focusing on completing them one at a time. Break tasks into smaller, achievable steps so that they don't seem too overwhelming. Celebrate each small victory, even as you work towards larger goals. You must also prioritise taking care of yourself, it will help you keep your head above water. Like a friend of mine would always say, "No matter what happens to you, make sure to stay alive." You can only stay alive if you take good care of yourself.
Learn to set boundaries with others, learn to say "no" when necessary; Guide your physical and emotional wellbeing; Build resilience and be better equipped to handle whatever challenges come your way. It will never be easy, but with intentional effort, and determination, you will sail through the storms of life triumphant.
