LIVE IN THE MOMENT
The gospel of living in the moment can not be overstretched nor overemphasised, it is a concept that must be embraced by all, if we must live life enjoyably and impactfully. Many spiritual traditions and psychological theories speaks so much about this topic and how it can help us create a balanced lifestyle. Living in the moment, is the practice of being fully present and engaged in the current moment, without any distractions from the past in form of regrets, or anxieties about the future.
When we live in the moment, we focus on what is happening in that moment, we free ourselves of any form of judgment or bias that we may have towards the people or the activities going on in that moment, we breath without any conscious effort, and we enjoy every bit of the moment. We relieve ourselves of stress and anxiety, we free ourselves from any form of negativity, and fill our minds with memories we would love to relive, creating peace and calmness in our hearts, subsequently increasing our effectiveness and productivity.
We must always respect our time allocation techniques and strategies, if we think it is not good enough we should learn how to make it better and make better choices and decisions with our time. We must not use the time that has been allocated for a particular thing for another. When we are at work, we should be fully at work, putting in our best effort as be as effective and efficient as we can be, and when we are with family, friends, and loved ones, we should respect our time and theirs and be in that moment for them and ourselves.
If we do not live in the moment, achieving our goals and aspirations will be difficult, because we will be exhibiting the monkey mind syndrome, jumping from one dream to another, losing focus and not being able to rack up necessary skills and knowledge that might be needed to excel in a particular field of endeavour. By being present and focused, we can tap into our intuition and creativity, allowing us to make better decisions and solve problems more effectively. So, take a deep breath, and focus on the present. You might be surprised at how much more connected and alive you feel.
