RUMINATE
Sometimes, you need to get out of your own head and focus on the present, the now, and what can be done to make this moment a worthy and memorable one. Life happens, but giving too much thoughts to the events of the past when it is clear it cannot bring anything good to the present or even the future is an exercise that should not be encouraged nor engaged in.
The past should be left where it belongs, the past, and the present should be optimized for greater productivity. To get the most of today, you must empty your mind of the ills of yesterday, and prepare it to be filled with the goodness of today. When you live each day at a time, without the cares of tomorrow, and the anxiety of what it may hold, you are more likely to be prepared for it, than when worried about it.
On the flip side, you must not forget how your growth, development, and ascension was aided. You must not forget those who gave you the opportunity; those who stuck their necks out for you; those who were ready to bear whatever consequences that may come with being a support to you; those who fought for you, even in your absence; those who risked everything for you even when it was not convenient.
"One of the most difficult things to remember is to remember to remember" Stephen Batchelor said. When things get smooth and easy, we tend to forget that we must not forget to remember how we got to where we are, and those who made it possible. We must RUMINATE, and effectively so, do due diligence to mindful and aware of where we are, where we came from, and where we are going.
