DON'T DISDAIN THE DAYS OF LITTLE BEGINNINGS
Every tall standing iroko tree started out from the very first inch, every mighty river begins with a single drop, every journey that leads to a grand destination began with a single step. Success can never be rushed, it always starts from very little beginnings. We often overlook the power of small beginnings, we dream of the finish line but grow impatient with the first few steps, we crave significance but disdain the humble beginnings that make it possible.
Starting small is the only means through which greatness can be reached. Moses began with a shepherd's staff, David started with a sling and a stone, Abraham Lincoln began from a log cabin to the white house, Nelson Mandela began from the prison to the highest ranking position in his country. There is no limit to the height one can get to with faith, confidence, and the willingness to go the distance.
Small steps teach patience, perseverance, and faithfulness. If you cannot be trusted with little, no one will trust you with much. Every small victory is a training ground for greater battles. David's faithfulness with sheep prepared him for the battle against Goliath. A little seed, when planted and properly nurtured, grows into a harvest. What seems insignificant today may become a legacy tomorrow.
Your first attempt at a thing may be awkward, but it is the foundation to something bigger. One tiny act of kindness can change someone's life forever. Job chapter 8, verse 7 says, "Though your beginning was small, Yet your latter end would increase abundantly." To get somewhere in life, to achieve anything worthwhile, there must be a beginning, no matter how small, and growth will surely follow. There is no haste on the journey to increase, it is a gradual and progressive process that must start small, and that should not be despised.
To a better you, Kamikun John.
