Persistence over speed

SLOW BUT STEADY WINS THE RACE

An old fable, tells the story of how a tortoise beat a hare in a race. The tortoise known for its slow pace of movement did not beat the hare who was taking a nap during the race because of its ability to sprint, but because of its steady movement despite the slow pace. The persistent tortoise triumphs over the swift but overconfident hare. This timeless lesson teaches us that consistency, patience, and perseverance often lead to greater success than hurried, erratic efforts.

Today, many seek instant results, quick fixes, rapid success, and overnight achievements. However, true mastery and lasting accomplishments are rarely born from haste, they come from steady progress, disciplined effort, and an unwavering commitment to the goal.

A student who studies a little each day would do far better than the student who sits to cram everything in one night before the exam. The athlete who trains consistently everyday in preparation for a competition will do much better than that which depends on the motivation, and busrt of intensity of an upcoming competition. An entrepreneur who builds a business through gradual improvements will be more established, than the one chasing trends.

Slow progress may seem unimpressive at first, but over time, it compounds. Small, deliberate steps prevent burnout, allow for deeper learning, and create a strong foundation for success. Meanwhile, those who rush often stumble, exhausted by their own haste or undone by careless mistakes. Life is not a sprint but a marathon. The one who moves forward steadily, despite obstacles, will ultimately cross the finish line with strength and endurance. In the race of life, it is not always the fastest who wins, but the one who keeps going, step by step, without giving up.

To a better you, Kamikun John.
