Hold on to hope

JOY IS COMING

There are times in life when everything seems heavy and it feels like the weight of the world has been placed on us. The nights become longer, and the days seem to come with extended misery. In those moments, you find yourself walking through shadows, wondering if the light will ever shine on you again. However, even in the quietest moments, when hope feels far away, there comes the whisper, and a hope of a brighter morning: "joy is coming."

Joy does not always come with a bang, sometimes, it does not even announce itself. It comes quietly, like the softness of the wind on your skin, like the brightness of a rising sun just after dawn, like the stillness that comes after a storm. Joy is not necessarily in the material things that we get, it is not necessarily in the fatness of our bank accounts, but in the laughter of a loved one, in the warm embrace that we never expected, in the quiet assurance that you are not alone.

Joy does not necessarily say there is no pain, but it says, inspite of the pain, we have a deeper reason to smile, that our struggle will produce beauty, and that there is a purpose to our waiting. You may not see it yet, but joy is weaving itself into your story. Every drop of tears, every prayer, every step forward will never be a waste. Seasons change, so will your situation change, what feels like failure today will not last forever.

The seeds you have planted will surely bloom, the burdens you have carried will soon be lifted. Hold on to hope, and trust that joy is not just a word you will hear or say, but a promise that is on its way to you, and moments that you will experience. It may come in ways you do not expect or even at a time you did not plan, but it will surely come. "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." (Psalm 30:5).

To a better you, Kamikun John.
