PAIN

PAIN

Every waking day for us is another day to go in pursuit of one thing, and no matter what that thing is, the underlying desire is pleasure. Whether in academia, entertainment, the corporate world of work, as an entrepreneur, or whatever it is that we have decided to do, all we seek at the end of the day is a comfortable, easy, and pleasant life.

No one wants to go through or experience pain in life, but as Jim Rohn once said, "We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment". You have to choose your pain, you either subject yourself through intentional and controlled pain, or you accept the pain that comes with the regret of not doing what you should do when you should have done it.

If there is no pain, there is no gain; if you have gone through pain, you shouldn't let it waste, ensure you profit from your pain. Mary Tyler Moore once advised, "Take chances, make mistakes. That's how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. You have to fail in order to practice being brave."

Every good thing that ever existed and still exists has been birthed through PAIN. PAIN is a gift of nature, it is mostly sandwiched between pleasure, and if properly attended to, it does not last long. Lance Armstrong succinctly puts, "Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever". Whatever you do, do not quit, make profit of your PAIN.
