FINISH
In many sports there are people that are regarded as good starters. They start the race, the match so well that they are regarded as favourites to win, they always begin with a bang, they go big, but just when their strength, their determination, their focus is needed the most, when it is getting tough and they are supposed to up the ante, they let their guards loose.
Without starting you cannot finish, but if you do not finish, starting was never necessary. The beauty, the reward for starting is on the finish line, and if you don't get there, you have done nothing. The most memorable moment in a race may not be the moment the first person arrives at the finish line, but the moment the man who had stumbled, and fell gets to the finish line.
Like Rick Mears once said, "To finish first you must first finish.". If you must finish first in a race your focus should not be to finish first, but to finish the race, but as fast as possible, with all that you have within you. Sometimes, the attitude that gets you started, will not take you through till the end, you need to change gears at some point, to keep moving.
Whether you started well or poorly, do not give up before finishing; do not let the jeers of the crowd keep you down and out; if they were better than you, they should be doing it and not jeering you. Be your own cheerleader, encourage yourself, dig deep within, and bring out the best in you. No matter how tough it is, however difficult it gets, see that your FINISH.
