I once met a lady that looks nothing close to being attractive, I cannot recall where exactly or when I met this lady, but I remember vividly telling myself that this lady would never be in consideration for marriage by her physical appearance.

Somehow, we had to constantly meet for some things, and I began to notice the very pleasant and beautiful character this lady posses. At this point I began to see how beautiful this lady was, her physical appearance did not change, but the discovery of her internal beauty changed my perspective about her and my consideration towards her. Today I cannot recall anything other than the fact that this event was real, but my view about beauty has since changed.

Beauty of the face and skin is vain and incomplete without the beauty of attitude and character. A good looking person with a bad character would initially be pleasant to the eye, but would eventually stink to the heart. No one would choose to be intimate with a person of questionable character and attitude, except they be of same make up.

Although we are responsible for our appearance, it is not entirely within our power to determine how we look, but one thing is well within our control: our character, attitude and behavior. We must do our very best to be a person of good and pleasant comportment, we must develop the kind of attitude that makes for internal beauty, the attitude that attracts the very kinds of people that we want in our lives: loving, pleasant, and KALON.
