DOGMATIC

DOGMATIC

The man who considers some principles and philosophies unchanging is a man who would never experience growth. One characteristic that is key to the advancement and development of every man, kingdom, nations, and creed is their ability to adapt to changing times and situations. They should understand that one who does not learn how to swim with the tides, but struggles with it will be carried away by it.

Over the years, we have seen people become unprecedentedly transformed due to their embrace of new and modern ideas and ideologies; on the flip side, so many others have been left behind for their lack of flexibility and their unreadiness to embrace change.

Holding on to something without examining such, and relating it to the reality of present times may put us at a huge disadvantage, and keep us stagnated if not retrogressive. We must always seek to update ourselves with new discoveries, and ideas; we must always upgrade our knowledge bank to catch-up with current trends.

John F. Kennedy in a commencement Address at Yale University on June 11 1962 said, "Too often we hold fast to the clichés of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought." Until we give ourselves to thoughts rather than depend on opinions, we will be limited in growth and advancement; when we bury our DOGMATIC personality, we give life to our growing, productive being.
