Go with intention

CHOOSE YOUR ASSOCIATES WISELY

On the journey of life, you are the captain of your ship, you are responsible for navigating through calm seas, the stormy and turbulent waters; but no captain sails alone, you have to have a crew, and the crew you choose to sail with you can either propel you toward horizons of triumph or anchor you in the depths of mediocrity. Navigating the sea successfully requires that you choose your crew wisely, as they will determine how, and when you arrive at shore.

The legendary motivational speaker, Jim Rohn, once said, "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with." If you spend long enough time with mediocres, soon you will begin to act, think, and behave mediocre. Similarly, if you spend long enough time with people who are visionary, intentional, and focused, soon you will begin to act, think, and behave like them. The people you spend most of your time with, will determine how you begin to live your life.

Choosing wisely is not about ego, pride, or class, it is about intention. Start small, evaluate your current relationships, and begin to examine who to flush out and who to retain or attract. It is not about how many people you have in your life, it is about the quality of people you have, and the impact they will have on you; quality always trump quantity. One true supporter is better and more powerful than a dozen of superficial connections with no tangible impact.

You hold the power to design your destiny. Make the conscious choice to align with those who believe in growth, kindness, and excellence; who celebrate your wins, offer honest feedback during setbacks, and inspire you to push beyond what you thought possible. Let their light amplify yours, and together, you will conquer mountains you once thought insurmountable. Choose your associates wisely, not just for success, but for a life filled with purpose, joy, and unbreakable momentum.

To a better you, Kamikun John.
