Fan the spark to flame
INSPIRATION COMES FROM WITHIN
We often think of inspiration as something that comes to us, we wait for the right piece of advice, the life-changing book, we look to the outside world to hand us a spark, and we wonder why we so often feel cold, while there is a fire within us waiting only to be blown into a flame. The truest, most enduring inspiration does not come from the outside in; it is not a guest that arrives at your door; it is the coal that has been glowing within you all along.
When a seed is buried in the earth, it does not wait for a cheer from the sun to begin growing, it has the innate ability to break open, to push upward, to reach for the light. The sun merely answers what the seed already knows it must do. The seed in you knows how to grow, you just have to give it the opportunity to do it. Your inspiration is born from your own values, the things you hold to be true, beautiful and worth fighting for, it is fueled by your curiosity.
Action is not the result of inspiration; it is often its catalyst. The simple act of putting pen to paper, lacing up your shoes, setting up and cleaning your workspace, and beginning is the friction that can ignite the spark for more. Don't wait to feel inspired to start, start to feel inspired. Trust your own curiosity, follow that thread, no matter how trivial it seems. The things that genuinely interest you are signposts pointing toward your inner source of power.
Honour your struggles, the very challenges that seem to block your path are the raw material of your inspiration. The strength you find to overcome them becomes a well from which you can draw forever. You are inspired not in spite of your battles, but because of them. Stop waiting for the spark, stop waiting for a rescue ship. The power you seek is within you. Fan that spark into a flame, trust the process, your greatest inspiration is not out there waiting to be found, it is within, waiting to be heard.
To a better you, Kamikun John.
