Embrace your journey
LIFE IS NOT LINEAR
Sometimes we envisage life as a straight line, we imagine everything to go smooth without obstacles, hinderances, and challenges, but the reality is that, life is never a line. It is a wild, uncharted landscape filled with hills, and valleys, and lots of wobbles. It can sometimes be a spiral that takes you in directions that you never envisaged; and sometimes to bus stops that you never wanted to reach.
However, every detour in life is for a purpose, every surprise twist comes with a lesson, and every dead end is a redirection. Sometimes, you have to take some lessons over and again for you to understand what that stage is teaching you. The rivers that runs into the mighty oceans do not find their way into the ocean on a straight path, rather they meander through rocks and canyons finding their way to their destination.
The most beautiful and transformative parts of your story will not be found on the straight paths. They are in the detours, the spirals, the humps and bombs. The failures that you encounter are not stop signs, they are redirections; the obstacles that greets your journey are not dead ends, they are your cues to to build bridges, to cross over to the other side; the storms does not come to destabilise you, but to clear your path.
Let go of the self imposed, artificial yardstick; stop measuring your progress by someone else's imagined straight line, or progress; everyone's journey is different, and your path is uniquely yours. Embrace the zigzag, celebrate the spiral, find courage in the complex. Your life is not a graph to be analyzed, it is a masterpiece to be lived. The bumps, the loops, the sudden drops and the breathtaking ascents are not mistakes in the design, they are the design, and they are meant to keep you growing.
