BE KIND ALWAYS
Kindness is a quiet superpower that does not always demand attention, yet its impact echoes far beyond the moment. To show kindness is choosing to shine your light over someone's dark path, it is to plant seeds of hope in a world that sometimes feels heavy. It is not about grand gestures, it is about the small, deliberate acts that put a smile on a stranger's face, a patient ear that listens to the helpless, a word of encouragement to someone whose spirit is low.
Kindness is a universal language that transcends barriers. It sometimes costs nothing but gives everything. You feel better when you show kindness. Scientific studies show that acts of kindness releases oxytocin, boosting your mood and reducing stress, while creating a ripple effect that inspires others to pay it forward. One kind act can spark a chain reaction, touching lives you will never know about.
However, kindness is not just about others, it is a gift to yourself. When you choose kindness, you are being your best self; you are not giving in to anger and external frustration, neither are you being indifferent to the plight of the helpless. You refuse to let the world harden you. Even when things are hard, and you feel like being all by yourself, and holding on tightly to everything, kindness is your anchor, grounding you in compassion.
Being kind always does not mean being a pushover. It is not about ignoring boundaries or excusing harm. True kindness is built on the solid foundation of strength, and the courage to see the humanity in others, even when they falter. It is being graceful with people while standing firm in your values. It is choosing to respond with goodness irrespective of what happens. As the Dalai Lama said, “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.”
To a better you, Kamikun John.
