STAND FOR WHAT YOU WANT OR FALL FOR WHAT OTHERS WANT
Life is a constant battle between staying true to yourself, standing for what you want, and bending to the expectations of others. Every day, we face the choice to compromise our dreams, please someone else, or stand firm in what we believe. The difference between those who live with purpose and those who live with regret often comes down to what they stand for or fall for.
Everyone around us, even those who do not have a pinch of stake in our lives will always have opinions about how we should live. They will tell you to follow the practical, acceptable, and safe patterns that have been established, but the safety in conformity is an illusion. The moment you trade your desires for someone else's approval, you lose a piece of yourself. You become a shadow of who you were meant to be, living a life designed by others rather than one crafted by your own hands.
Standing for what you want is not about arrogance, pride, or defiance, it is about self-respect; it is about recognizing that your dreams, and vision, no matter how unconventional, or seemingly unrealistic, are worth fighting for. Every great innovator, artist, leader, and trailblazers faced resistance. If they had surrendered to external noise, the world would have missed what they had to give.
When you fall for what people want, you surrender your power to them, and you allow them to dictate your life to you. By the time you realise you have gone off-track, you would have lost time, and it might be too late to start afresh. Regret is the price of silence, of folding when you should have fought. Choose courage over comfort; speak when others expect silence; push when they tell you to settle. The only life you have to answer for is your own. Stand for what you want, or spend forever falling for what others want.
To a better you, Kamikun John.
