LIFE IS NOT A RAT RACE
There are many paths to success, there are as many formulas as the success stories experienced across the globe, and the hunger to relentlessly engage in competitiveness. It is easy to believe that life is a race and you must outrun everyone else to succeed, but the truth is everyone can succeed in their own space and within their own life purpose. Society measures worth and success in designations, paychecks, and possessions, pushing us to hustle harder, climb higher, and accumulate more, but that is not all that there is to life.
You cannot focus your life on endlessly running in circles, chasing superficial rewards that never truly satisfy, or accumulating possessions only to disperse them; these leads nowhere, it only fosters comparison, burnout, and a hollow sense of achievement. Humans are not lab rats, and life is not a maze designed to test our endurance, it is an opportunity to create and dominate.
True fulfillment does not come from being the fastest or the wealthiest, but from living with purpose, presence, and authenticity. It is found in moments of connection, shared laughter with loved ones, creative passions pursued for joy and impact rather than profit. Success should not be a standardized trophy of how life should be lived, but a personal journey of growth, meaning, and contentment.
Stepping off the treadmill does not mean giving up on ambition, it means redefining what matters to you; slowing down does not mean never again; falling does not mean the end of the journey. Breathe. You don't always have to be in the race, it is an illusion. You don't always have to win to live a life that matters. Life is not about outrunning others. It is about walking your own path, at your own pace, and savouring the journey.
To a better you, Kamikun John.
