LISTEN TO YOURSELF
In our fast-paced, constantly connected world, it can be easy to lose sight of our own thoughts, feelings, and desires. Listening to yourself can provide clarity and guidance in decision-making, emotional health, and personal growth. Listening to yourself involves tuning into your thoughts, feelings, and instincts. This practice is fundamental to your growth and development as it helps you understand your emotions and motivations, and allows you to make more informed choices about your life.
Paying attention to your feelings helps in managing stress, anxiety, and depression. It enables you to identify emotional triggers and address them effectively. If you fail to listen to what your body is telling you, you will suffer the consequences, and sometimes recovery may be a tall order. The human mind and body is a complete system, it is self-preserving, self-protective, and it is capable of building itself up as long as it is fed with the right meals, but when it speaks, proper attention must be paid to its voice.
Engaging in active listening means being present with your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Instead of suppressing emotions, recognize and validate them. Allow yourself to feel sadness, joy, anger, or confusion without criticism. Engage in deep reflections, ask yourself some crucial questions like, “What do I truly want?”, “How do I feel about this situation?” And allow yourself to explore the answers without rushing.
Listening to yourself also means trusting your intuition. This innate sense can be a powerful guide when making decisions. Think about moments when you followed your intuition and how it played out. Learning from past experiences can reinforce your trust in your inner voice. Your inner voice holds valuable wisdom that can guide you through life's challenges and help you carve a path that resonates with your true self. Embrace this journey of self-discovery, and awareness and let your inner voice lead the way.
To a better you, Kamikun John.
